2025 National Awards Competition in Ballet
The National Society of Arts and Letters is pleased to announce the 2025 National Awards Competition in Ballet on May 8-10, 2025 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Contestants will first compete at the chapter level, then the winners of each regional competition will travel to Pennsylvania to compete at the National level.

NEW 2025 NSAL Writing Scholarships
In the attachments below you will find the information, application, and chapter responsibilities for the Writing Scholarships which is a new scholarship for 2025. This scholarship has two different age categories. One is for ages 16 – 18 and the other is for ages 19 – 22. NSAL Writing Scholarship Program will award $10,000 in 2025 for short story fiction consisting of 1000 to 7500 words.
NEW 2025 Martorella Scholarship in Classical Voice
The National Society of Arts and Letters invited performers to apply for the 2025 Martorella Scholarship in Classical Voice. $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded. Applications are due to chapters by February 15, 2025 and winners will be announced upon selection.
The 2025 Shirley Rabb Winston Scholarship in Classical Voice
In the attachment below you will find the information and the application form for the 2025 Shirley Rabb Winston Scholarship in Classical Voice. This scholarship has two different age categories. One is for ages 16 – 18 and the other is for ages 19 – 22. Winston Scholarships will award a total of $16,000 to classically trained singers in 2025. Applications are due to chapters by February 1, 2025.

The National Society of Arts and Letters invited artists to apply for the 2025 Naomi Rabb Winston Scholarship in Two-Dimensional Art. $16,000 in scholarships will be awarded. Applications are due to chapters by February 1, 2025.

Alycya Thomas, Honorable Mention, 2023 NSAL National Drama Competition, $1,000 Prize
Alycya Thomas, born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.A few of her credits as an actress are Dr. Fine/Dr. Madden in Next to Normal and Squeak in The Color Purple. In the 2023 NSAL National Drama Competition Alycya performed Act 3, Scene 2, from As You Like It by William Shakespeare; Act 2, Scene 1, from Fences by August Wilson; and Act 2, Scene 1, from Appropriation by Brandon-Jacobs Jenkins. Alycya told us that she was truly thankful for the opportunity to represent our chapter and showcase her talent in the national drama competition.
